Anna is half a year old!

Anna is changing so quickly! She has a gorgeous, irresistable smile and big deep blue eyes. Cute chubby body and two bottom teeth have broken through. I think you got them the day before you turned 6 months old. Sharp little things.

You have this dense, solid little body. Your 6 month doctor visit is next week, and I'm so curious to see how much you weigh. 20 lbs? 22 lbs? You're a big baby, that's for sure -- my arms get tired holding you for very long.

You are moving around a lot more, too. You've been rolling both ways for a while, but now you're getting close to being able to sit up, and you can scoot a little bit forwards and backwards. And occassionally you do that plank pose thing where you get your whole body off the ground like a big push up. It takes a lot of energy. Speaking of that you sleep a lot during the day! Three naps, I'd say, morning, afternoon and evening. And generally you sleep pretty good at night. Sometimes you do this crazy thing of waking up wide awake at 3am, but that's not very often, thank goodness.

We've gone on a couple trips -- Clam digging at Iron Springs when you were about 4 months old, and we went to Leavenworth last weekend. You did really well both places.

It's going to be fun to see you start crawling.

THOR -- You're doing really well lately. You say everything, make 5 word sentences, and are super excited about life in general. At Leavenworth we saw Father Christmas -- an old man with a long grey beard and big robe and staff, and you were so amazed by him. You stood and stared for a long time. Then we started walking away to go sledding, but you didn't want to go back. So I said, "Go up and say Hi to him." We walked up there and you shyly scooted up to him and he pulled a small apple out of a box and handed it to you. You took it and ate it. He said Merry Christmas. That scene stuck with you for a long time. You thought it was so cool and you called him the Bee Man. You said, "Bee Man give apple in hand!! Beeman say Merry kissmas!" (You have a book about a Bee Man that you like, and Father Xmas looked like the Bee Man)

Anyway, there are tons of stories like this, where you see things that completely amaze you. It's sort of like living with a tiny alien who has all these new experiences on earth and they're like, soooo cool to the alien. :)

Of course this alien also suddenly hates to get dressed. That's kind of annoying. Also you're really not interested in using the toilet at all. Oh, and you aren't weaned anymore. You decided you wanted, no HAD to nurse again. Sigh. You ask all the time: "Tiny nur nurse??" Sigh. I am totally looking forward to you weaning, but at the same time I don't have the heart to totally cut you off just yet. When you do have tiny noo noos it's for like 30 seconds, and just for comfort and to know mama is still there for you...

Overall you are a hilarious sweet boy and you make me laugh out loud every day. :)
